Brad Boulton for Hamilton County Sheriff
Jason “Brad” Boulton is a tremendously experienced peace officer with deep family roots in Hamilton County. Brad is the grandson of Deloy and Sylvia Wilson of Pottsville. Brad has many family members that reside in Hamilton County who have been or are currently ranchers or farmers. Brad has been married to Amber for 27 years and has two children, Bradley & Buck, who are also first responders in the fields of law enforcement and firefighting.
Brad has served 30 years as a full-time police officer in the state of Texas, with the last 2 years at the City of Hamilton police department as the Chief of Police. Prior to being appointed he served 23 years with the City of Lancaster Police Department, the last 7 years as assistant chief, overseeing 75 employees both sworn and civilian. While at the Lancaster Police Department, Boulton was awarded the Valor Award from the State of Texas as well as the Lancaster Police Department’s medal of Honor. He also received supervisor of the Year in 2011. Before starting at Lancaster, he worked as a patrol officer for the City of Westlake Hills, City of Llano and Dallas Area Rapid Transit.
In addition, he is a graduate of the FBI National Academy class 255, along with having over 4200 training hours, giving him the education and background to run a department like the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office. He applied this knowledge to supervising a department with a patrol division, criminal investigation division, K-9 division, narcotics division, SWAT team, special investigations division and a city jail, while at the Lancaster Police Department.
Boulton’s goals:
- County-wide community involvement
- Implementing a unified crisis plan for all county schools
- Recruiting and retaining quality officers
- Proactive approach to drug and crime prevention
- County-wide coverage for all residents and businesses
- Budget conscious
- Train all county deputies on working accidents. (So, citizens can be moved off the roadway and not have to wait on a State Trooper to work the accident.)
- Work with County Commissioners to open the County Jail.
Brad Boulton is focused on these goals to provide
better law enforcement services to the taxpayers of Hamilton County.
